Do head lice mean my hair is dirty?
Head lice cannot simply be blamed on poor hygiene. The priorities are finding live lice, checking close contacts and treating them correctly.

Head lice · Nits
Itching and white specks alone do not confirm head lice. The NHS notes that finding live lice is needed for confirmation. Nits can stick to hair, while dandruff is a separate issue. If you suspect lice, ask a pharmacist about a detection comb and suitable treatment.

Dandruff, product irritation and other scalp concerns can also cause itching. Ask a professional if you cannot tell the difference. Photographs or how itchy it feels are not enough to decide.
The NHS describes wet combing and appropriate lice treatment products. Before using products for children, during pregnancy or on sensitive skin, ask a pharmacist and follow local product instructions. Household members and close contacts should also be checked.
Do not treat scalp massage, ordinary deep cleansing or herbal essential oils as reliable lice treatments. Lavender Hair's everyday scalp care is separate from head lice treatment.
If you suspect lice or still have live lice, arrange treatment first and contact the salon to check when it is suitable to visit. After treatment, you can explore everyday care if dryness or other care needs remain. A salon visit is not required to treat head lice.
